Here are my picks for this Week’s Parlay of the Week. Let’s get these W’s all season!
According to Pro Football Focus, this Jacksonville defense ranked last in the league in tackling rate and 23rd in rush defense, giving up 1.48 yards before contact in week one. They’re facing a team this week that is committed to the run game and possesses a capable back and an offensive line. I see Ford easily going over his 49-yard rushing prop, even if they have to pound the ball the entire game.
The Lions are another team committed to the run game, but I believe they will show how balanced they are as they are facing one of the worst-ranked defenses from Week 1: the Buccaneers. They ranked 27th in the league in tackling, 24th in rush defense, and 24th in coverage. The Lions will be able to score consistently in this game and get more of their weapons involved.
Darnold seemed to shine last week against the Giants but is facing a team in the 49ers who are familiar with him this week. The 49ers defense was great in Week 1, and Jordan Mason was more than capable of keeping the 49ers offense on the field. This Vikings offense also wants to run the ball and will not put this entire game on Darnold. I expect him to stay under his completion total of 21.5.
