Best Showdown Options for Monday Night Football Week 6 (DK)
Buffalo Bills (-1) at New York Jets (41)
If you made it through SNF, buckle up because we are in for another “rock fight” in primetime, with the Jets hosting the Bills. In these types of matchups, if there is a dual-threat quarterback, you just play him. Luckily for us, that option is Josh Allen. Look, he hasn’t been great over the last few weeks, but his floor is better than 75% of the ceilings on this slate. I don’t know if I completely trust the Jets defense, as three of their five games have come against Will Levis, Jacoby Brissett, and Bo Nix. Allen’s legs are simply a tough fade in this ugly game environment.
Contrarian Captain Consideration: James Cook, RB, Buffalo ($15,300)
The Jets offense has been a rollercoaster ride, and now we will see if the changes at head coach and offensive coordinator can jump-start this thing. I would expect Breece Hall to be a major factor in re-establishing the team’s identity. He was fantastic in the first three games, and the Bills are in the bottom three in the league in rushing yards per attempt (5.2). Factor that in with his usual 4-6 targets, and Hall is a lock.
The Bills and Josh Allen are always a headache to stack. The receiver room looks to be fully healthy, and Shakir’s return stands to complicate things. Kincaid is the clear-cut option in the tight end room, and his workload is about as consistent as it gets in this offense. I wouldn’t project a full breakout, but Kincaid has the tools to put together a solid outing.
James Cook, RB, Buffalo ($10,200)
Garrett Wilson, WR, New York ($10,000)
Aaron Rodgers, QB, New York ($9,000)
Khalil Shakir, WR, Buffalo ($8,600)
Allen Lazard, WR, New York ($7,200)
Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo ($6,800)
While it doesn’t look like we will have any major injury news (check before lock), that doesn’t mean there aren’t quite a few options in the “Bargain Bin”. Conklin is a guy that we have been high on since the beginning of the year, and he’s finally starting to get it going. The target share has risen significantly over the last three games. While the Bills haven’t given up big numbers to the position, the tight end position has been targeted heavily. Look for Conklin to make some plays and easily pay off this price tag.
Mike Williams, WR, New York ($5,600)
Braelon Allen, RB, New York ($5,400)
Tyler Bass, K, Buffalo ($5,000)
Bills Defense ($4,600)
Greg Zuerlein, K, New York ($4,400)
Jets Defense ($3,600)
Curtis Samuel, WR, Buffalo ($2,800)
Mack Hollins, WR, Buffalo ($2,400)
Final Score: Buffalo Bills 20, New York Jets 17
Both offenses have been struggling, and the projected total is pretty ugly, thanks to the defenses. I like the Bills to get back on track behind Josh Allen, covering the spread and finally keeping an MNF total under.
Josh Allen OVER 34.5 Rushing Yards
Breece Hall OVER 59.5 Rushing Yards
Tyler Conklin OVER 26.5 Receiving Yards
Tyler Bass OVER 1.5 Field Goals
