Heat’s Hard Hits & Cool Picks 2024: Best IDP Fantasy Football Pickups Week 1

NFL football is finally back, and I’m ready to bring the pain to all of you like I did last year. With most drafts still going on, I also approached this first article with that in mind since that waiver wire is completely wide open in most leagues.

One of the players makes perfect sense, but now everyone pays attention to moves like this. That is why it’s imperative to also head to the Subs-Only Discord for up-to-date action and great times.

Last year was this article’s inaugural year, so I wanted to thank all of you who followed all year. For those who may be new, this article gives you deep dives and waiver wire sleepers that may have an opportunity to help you win that week. So, for people who are streaming IDP, this is the perfect article for you.

We can sometimes find the sportsbooks slipping with these players and get an easy cash win on the betting side. That’s how we’ll bring the pain to the competition this year. Have a great day, everyone, and may the tackles be with you.

LB Omar Speights, Los Angeles Rams

With Ernest Jones’s trade, the linebacking corps just became thinner—thinner in a good way because it gave a chance to a hungry rookie linebacker.

Omar Speights is great to step in, and even after many drafts have happened, he’s only rostered at around one percent in most leagues. If you’re in a dynasty, Speights is a must add and he’ll perform for you in your seasonal leagues as well.

My prediction: 6 total tackles, 1 pass defended

LB Ivan Pace Jr., Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings’ defense isn’t going to be one of the best, but sometimes, for IDP, that can help lead to more tackles. Ivan Pace Jr. was one of my late-season adds last year, and right now, you can find him on the waiver wire around the 10 percent owned mark. Pick him up for your seasonal teams and find this bet, so you’ll be swimming in cash in no time.

My prediction: 7 total tackles, 1 Stuff

S Jalen Pitre, Houston Texans

My superhero from two seasons ago took a step back, and everyone thinks he will do that again. I don’t think so, and the fact he’s around 13 percent rostered only means he’s ready to join your team and produce. This is also a divisional game, and you can expect Johnathan Taylor to get a ton of carries, in which Pitre will assist the defense and your fantasy teams.

My prediction: 5 total tackles, 1 Pass Defended
