Doc’s Visionary Plays: Week 8

QB:

Lamar Jackson, Ravens

The Ravens are playing at such a high level right now that it almost feels like a slam dunk to make Jackson a visionary play. The Browns play one of the highest levels of man coverage, which will leave a lot of the Ravens receivers open for Jackson. He could have another three touchdowns passing this week.

Jordan Love, Packers

Love has thrown 15 touchdown passes this season, and the Jacksonville Jaguars defense has allowed 16 touchdown passes against them. Put those two things together, and you’re going to have fireworks!

Joe Burrow, Bengals

The Eagles secondary is awful, and the only reason we didn’t see that last week against the Giants was that the Giants offensive line couldn’t stop the Eagles pass rush. Joe Burrow is going to make them pay, and he’s got two of the best receivers against man coverage, so look for Burrow to have 300+ passing yards and three touchdowns.

Kirk Cousins, Falcons

Tampa has a very stout run defense, but they have not been very good against the pass, as witnessed by Lamar Jackson’s four touchdown passes last week. Cousins has plus matchups across the board with London, Mooney, and Pitts.

Jameis Winston, Browns

The Ravens have been one of the worst teams against opposing quarterbacks letting up tons of yardage. I expect the Browns to be losing but I think Winston should be able to produce in garbage time giving fantasy managers at least 250 yards passing and two touchdowns.

RB:

Javonte Williams, Broncos

This may be the best matchup of the weekend. The Panthers have let up 13 rushing touchdowns and close to 4.71 yards per carry. My only fear in this game is that the Broncos are winning by so much that Javonte barely gets any carries in the second half.

James Cook, Bills

Seattle has been very generous to opposing running backs, including Bijan Robinson, who had a field day last week. Cook has been Buffalo’s most consistent player on offense, and Seattle has let up 5.19 yards per carry. I think Cook’s going to have another huge game this week.

JK Dobbins, Chargers

The Saints normally have had a very good run defense, but this year, their defense has let up 5.56 yards per carry and the fourth-most rushing touchdowns against them this season. Dobbins had an off game on Monday against Arizona, and Jim Harbaugh is going to go right back to the running game and try to establish it early and make sure that they win at the line of scrimmage. Look for Dobbins to get 80-plus rushing yards and a touchdown.

Kareen Hunt, Chiefs

The Raiders have been awful against opposing running backs, including Najee Harris, who had a huge game against them recently. Hunt has been phenomenal as the starter for the Chiefs as he can both run and catch making him a dual threat in the backfield.

Joe Mixon, Texans

The Colts have not been able to stop anybody on defense, and Mixon has been the steadiest offensive player for the Texans thus far, scoring multiple touchdowns. Look for him to find the end zone at home this week.

WR:

Tyreek Hill, Dolphins

Hill must be chomping at the bit to have Tua back after the disaster that’s been happening in Miami. There’s nobody on the Cardinals who can cover him, and probably nobody in the state of Arizona either. He could be the lock of the week.

A.J. Brown, Eagles

Cam Taylor-Britt has been one of the worst cornerbacks in the NFL this season. He’s more of a physical cornerback, and he lacks straight-line speed, which is going to make for a really bad matchup against A.J. Brown. Look for Brown to catch a long touchdown pass this week and have 100 yards as well.

Tee Higgins, Bengals

Surprisingly, it has been Higgins and not Chase who has been the best Bengals receiver against man coverage. Guess what type of cover defense the Eagles play? Man coverage. Start Higgins.

Jayden Reed, Packers

Reed has been very quiet over the past couple of weeks, but he’s playing the Jaguars, who have been one of the most generous teams against opposing offenses this season. People are going to be looking for the Doubs touchdown but I think it’s the Reed touchdown that’s going to happen.

George Pickens, Steelers

Russell Wilson went from getting booed in the first quarter to being a hero by the end of the game. The Giants secondary has been a mess, and Wilson is not afraid to give Pickens a chance to catch a 50/50 ball. I expect him to have another really great opportunity at 100 yards.

TE:

Brock Bowers, Raiders

Do you know what happens when you put the number one fantasy tight end against the worst defense in the league against opposing tight ends? It makes for a visionary day for Bowers!

David Njoku, Browns

When Jameis Winston came in the game, he targeted Njoku a ton, as he had 10 receptions. The Ravens have been awful against opposing tight ends, allowing 9.24 YPT. That’s a very high number, and I expect Njoku will get another 10 targets thrown at him this week.

Kyle Pitts, Falcons

This should be a very wide-open game, and Tampa has allowed an almost 80% catch rate to opposing tight ends. It always feels like when Pitts does well, the Falcons do well, and that should happen this week.

Dalton Schultz, Texans

The Colts defense has given out touchdowns to tight ends like Oprah Winfrey gives out gifts to her guests. Here’s a touchdown for you, and a touchdown for you, and a touchdown for you. I’m totally betting on a Schultz anytime touchdown this week.

Taysom Hill, Saints

He’s finally healthy again, and we know how much better the Saints offense is when he is on the field. If they get in the red zone, Spencer Rattler is coming out, and Taysom is coming in. This could be a two-TD week if you are feeling frisky!
