Fantasy Football Stock Watch: Buy/Sell/Hold Week 15

BUY

Sincere McCormick, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

His carries have increased from five to 12 to 15 over the last three games, and he’s also seen five targets over his last two. We can be skeptical of the Las Vegas offense in general, but we shouldn’t be afraid that Ameer Abdullah or a returning Alexander Mattison will threaten McCormick’s newfound workload. A matchup with Atlanta at home this week is followed by another home game against the Jaguars in Week 16, and a road trip to New Orleans in Week 17 might just pave the road to a title.

Bengals/Falcons DST

Many of us have streamed defenses weekly throughout the season, and there are a couple of teams that you hopefully got out in front of before your league’s last waiver run. Cincinnati and Atlanta not only have favorable matchups defensively this week versus the Titans and Raiders, respectively, but in Week 16, as well, when the Bengals and Falcons face the Browns and Giants.

SELL

The San Francisco 49ers

Frustration has set in for Niner fans, fantasy football managers, and San Francisco players alike. On Thursday night, the 49ers only scored six points on offense against the Rams and had defensive players refusing to enter the game. Deebo Samuel is expressing his feelings on Twitter, Christian McCaffrey is unsurprisingly on the shelf, and Kyle Shanahan is doing the best he can with a quarterback with a limited skill set and will somehow still end up signing an enormous contract anyway. I’m not starting the 49ers defense against their Week 16 or Week 17 opponents either. Cross everyone in 49er red off your list, except maybe George Kittle, and move on.

HOLD

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, New Orleans Saints

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR, Tennessee Titans

We’re holding hyphens this week and for the rest of the season as these two undervalued wideouts are still somehow both rostered in under 45% of Sleeper leagues and only 34% of Yahoo leagues. MVS has taken the WR1 reins in New Orleans and received a season-high seven targets last week. Rookie QB Jake Haener is making his first career start and says he’s going to play like he’s got nothing to lose. I imagine the game plan will include a few deep balls to MVS.

Speaking of a team with nothing to lose, NWI is still a touchdown threat from anywhere on the field, which is good since the Titans avoid the red zone like the plague. He’s as boom or bust as it comes, but he feels more agreeable to our lineups than anything on the waiver wire. If you’re in a spot where you need to start either receiver, do so and hold on for the ride.
