Rookie RB Trey Benson might be breathing down his neck, but for one more season, it looks like Conner is the bell-cow RB in Arizona. He’s great in the passing game and solid by the goal line, too. How often can you draft a 200+ touch RB in Round 7?
I’m a big fan of McBride, but not where I have to take him. I’d much prefer to wait on my tight end until round 6-7. Also of note is that rookie WR Marvin Harrison, Jr. is going to be the first read on most offensive plays. McBride is being drafted like last year’s McBride, which is a little too rich for my blood.
The Rams spent an early draft pick on Corum, and there is no one else on the roster who can spell Kyren Williams as effectively. Moreover, the Rams love to give their lead RB a ton of carries, so it’s not out of the question that Corum could start a few games and get 20+ touches if Williams should miss time. Round 10 is a great value for him.
This feels like a cop-out, but Stafford in Round 11 is fair. Williams in Round 2 is correct. Nacua is a Round 1 pick after what he did last season. And Cooper Kupp is a potential steal in Round 3 if healthy. It’s rare to have a whole offense be appropriately valued like this.
In Week 16 of last season, Purdy was in the driver’s seat for League MVP. He then had a bad game against Baltimore, throwing for four INTs while Lamar Jackson started to play like the second coming of Johnny Unitas. Regardless, Purdy finished the season with 4280 passing yards and 31 TDs in his first full season as the team’s starting QB. Why is he still being undervalued? I’m not sure, and I am more than happy to make him my fantasy QB1 in 2024.
If Aiyuk gets traded, I am happy to revise this prediction, but right now, Aiyuk is being taken in Round 2 of fantasy drafts after giving the 49ers a trade request. What if he decides to dog it on the field? What if a possible injury lasts months instead of weeks? Am I willing to risk that happening with my second-round pick? Not a chance!
DK Metcalf is the WR1 in the Seattle offense, but I am expecting JSN to become the WR2 in his second season with the team. Tyler Lockett began to slow down at the end of 2023 and new OC Ryan Grubb has made a point to say that he wants to involve JSN more in the offense. Round 8 feels like a potential steal for a player whose talent level is way more like a WR1 than a WR3.
Walker is a solid talent, but I am basing this on three things: 1) Zach Charbonnet will be more comfortable in his second year and could be a better fit in Ryan Grubb’s offensive system, 2) Seattle will likely throw more under the new regime than it did under Pete Carroll, and 3) By taking Walker in Round 5, I am passing on some terrific WRs. For all those reasons, Walker is an overvalued pick.
