Fantasy Football Start/Sit Week 11

You know the feeling. It’s why you’re here. That glorious, maddening, weekly riddle that consumes us right until kickoff: WHO DO I START? The impact? Maybe the difference is between mess-talking victory and soul-sucking defeat. And we all want that “edge,” don’t we? That little nugget that pats us on our tushies and tells us everything will be ok. A gentle nudge, if you will. I want you to know that I’m here each week to pat your tushies (figuratively). To give you my two cents on who needs to be touching grass and who needs to be riding pine. And why.

This is your nudge. *pats tushie* Now, let’s get this ‘W’.

WEEK 10 RECEIPTS

I went 9-7… AGAIN. But to be fair, it was a wonky week. Smashed QBs (4-0), ate it on RBs (1-3), and broke even on the pass catchers. A wise man once said You’ll never go broke turning a profit.

On the season, I’ve banked 97-79 (55.2%)

QUARTERBACKS

Start: Aaron Rodgers (PIT v. CIN) If it’s going to be any game, it’s this one. Higher floor rather than ceiling, but I’ll take it against the worst defense in decades.

Start: Marcus Mariota (WAS @ MIA) Legs provide sturdy floor, and it’s the Dolphins. Remember – this isn’t real football, and if Justin Fields can be start-worthy, so can Marcus here.

Sit: Patrick Mahomes (KC @ DEN) I know he’s Thanos, but not against Denver in Mile High. Mahomes is generally phenomenal off a bye week, but I don’t love it this week – the Broncos have really only been gouged by the position three times this year.

Sit: Baker Mayfield (TB @ BUF) Trap game. Screams shootout, but look at Mahomes’ and Tua’s lines against them as the ceiling. I love me some Baker (especially his commercials), but the Bills are the second-ranked defense against the position. Look elsewhere this week.

RUNNING BACKS

Start: Jalylen Warren (PIT v. CIN) My “right guy, right spot” play this week. Kyle Monangai torched them two weeks ago, Breece Hall last week. It’s Jaylen’s turn.

Start: De’Von Achane (WAS @ MIA) Keeping with my “look what just happened” theme this week, um… Jahmyr Gibbs. Period. Achane is Gibbs 2.0, and this is going to be a big line

Sit: Rachaad White (TB @ BUF) Trap game for White as well, as I don’t think his style matches up well against the Bills. He hasn’t exactly set the world on fire in Bucky’s absence, and in my mind, he isn’t even the best remaining back in the room. Speaking of, I’m rolling Tucker instead.

Sit: Kimani Vidal (SD @ JAC) Love the kid, but it’s not a great matchup. It’s about as far as any team has to fly in the intercontinental, and that seems to matter. I see this one as more of a grind, and the Jags have only surrendered three tuddys (in just two games) all year. Floor game.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Start: Zay Flowers (BAL @ CLE) Love this for Flowers, who faces three of the worst CBs in football this week. Lamar is getting comfy again, and Batemon is banged up – both bode well for Zay. Ceiling game incoming.

Start: DeVonta Smith (PHI v. DET) I’m calling it – new WR1 in the room, and this is going to be a shootout if Philly hopes to stay in it. I’m looking for a nuke from Smith this week.

Sit: Courtland Sutton (DEN v. KC) I’ve been writing all week that KC’s defense is the real show, and the backfield deserves a lot of the credit. Plus Bo has regressed a bit in recent weeks, and I see the Chiefs stealing one in a grind here.

Sit: Keon Coleman (BUF v. TB) Flashed last week, but is too inconsistent to trust in a potential bust week. It’ll be the legs in this one – James Cook and Josh Allen.

TIGHT ENDS

Start: Oronde Gadsden II (SD @ JAC) The Jags have been brutal against the position, with double digit points allowed in all but one game (Week 1). Did you see what Brock Bowers did to them two weeks ago? Still fresh.

Start: Travis Kelce (KC @ DEN) I don’t love it, but I think the Denver linebackers are more susceptible v. tight ends than it would appear. Not scorched Earth, but I could see Kelce popping a 4/64/1 box.

Sit: Luke Musgrave (GB @ NYG) Stop it. Just don’t. He’s not Tucker Kraft, and it’s that simple. And guess what? Maybe Jordan Love isn’t all that either. We’ve been blaming the pass catchers, but have we all been wrong?

Sit: Dawson Knox (BUF v. TB) Kincaid’s hammy is still a problem, so I see Knox getting reps here. But Tampa rolls backfield coverage over tight ends with the best of them, and the unit has given up a score to the position in just two games this year.
