Fantasy Football Stock Watch: Buy/Sell/Hold: Week 9

BUY

Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns

Chubb is two weeks into his return from a brutal knee injury suffered near the beginning of last season, and now may be the last time you can get him this season at a reasonable price. After rushing for a touchdown with a measly 22 yards on 11 carries against the Bengals in his season debut, Chubb ran for 52 yards on 16 carries against the Ravens. Nobody else has rushed for that many yards against Baltimore all season, and with Jameis Winston now slinging the ball around for the Saints, running lanes will continue to open for the bruising back. See if you can catch a league mate with Chubb and a rash of wide receiver injuries and make your move. The arrow is only going up from here.

SELL

Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions

While we love a touchdown in five straight games, it’s amazing to watch the Lions offense and know that they do not need St. Brown to be successful. Out of seven Lions games, ARSB has six targets or less in four of them, and the only game he received double-digit targets was Detroit’s solitary loss of the season against Tampa Bay in Week 2 when the ball was thrown his way 18 times. I understand not wanting to trade away a pass catcher this talented, but if you can get a running back like Saquon Barkley or even his own teammate in David Montgomery, I’d consider moving the Sun God.

HOLD

Breece Hall, RB, New York Jets

The turbulent offense of the New York Jets has proven to be more frustrating for fantasy managers than lost luggage, and Hall is no exception to the rule. Expectations of a big game against the Patriots went unfulfilled while Braelon Allen sniped another goalline carry and found paydirt. While he hasn’t lived up to his draft price, the second-easiest remaining schedule in the league should help steer Hall back on track for a Jets team that sorely needs a few smooth landings in a row. They get Houston on a short turnaround this week, but it’s clear skies after that.
