Know your Edge
I want to clarify that I am not saying “everyone should just play small-field GPPs, they’re the best.” I’ve learned over the years that smaller-field tourneys are the best option for me, based on my way of thinking and my style of play. But, your mileage may vary. The important thing is to recognize that different types of contests require different strategies to be successful. Focus on where your strengths are. Nobody is elite at everything. Figure out your edge, and hammer it. For me, that’s small-field contests in full slate . . .
