NBA Props Research // Assistance

OWS is looking for someone to join our prop betting team for the upcoming NBA season. Your role will be to help research projections and compare them with prop lines, while understanding the context of NBA betting (things like blowout risk, projection stability/fragility, mean/median outcomes) and helping us to source +EV bets for our subscribers.

What You’ll Do:
  • Research projections & compare with prop lines
  • Present proposed props to the team for approval (and, when necessary or as you gain more experience on the team, selecting and posting props yourself)
  • Assist with line shopping & analysis/vetting of other team members’ proposed props
What We’re Looking For:
  • Availability during the window leading up to NBA lock (5pm EST — 10pm EST Monday-Friday, though we don’t expect you active and working that entire time; we’d like you to be checking in with the news of who’s in/out/starting and available for research and discussion during that window). No weekends involved.
    • It’s hard to put exact hours on this because of the on/off nature of the work, but we’d expect this role to take roughly 10 hours per week.
  • Someone with a track record of NBA prop betting success
  • An understanding of the principles of successful NBA prop betting
  • An ability to clearly articulate, in writing, the reasoning behind your proposed bets (in more depth than just “because the projections say it’s good”) — OWS is all about teaching people, after all!
How To Apply:

If you’re interested in applying, please email [email protected] and include the following:

  • A basic resume
  • The state in which you reside
  • Any history/track record of your prop betting success

In addition, please provide a (brief) sample of the following:

  1. Pitch us a prop. Any prop. The line itself is irrelevant — you can just make one up — but give us an example of how you would write up a recommended prop bet. The “why” is the important bit here; we’re looking for someone who can clearly and articulately present the reasoning behind the recommendation.
  2. Pretend for a moment that you’re looking at a prop. The prop is Jayson Tatum over 2.5 3 pointers at -110. Please lay out your reasoning on how you would think about this prop. Is it a good one? Why or why not? What other information would you need to consider in order to make a decision?
