Fantasy Football FAAB: Week 14

Teams on BYE: Baltimore, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, New England, Washington

For purposes of this article, I assume your league uses $1000 FAAB. The newer names to each position are at the bottom of each positional listing. Please note that these names are not in order of preference, so look over the list carefully.

We are getting to crunch time and most of the names listed here will be players that you will want to stash in case of injury. Now is the time to dump your WR6 for the backup to your star receiver.

QB:

Derek Carr, Saints—No Taysom Hill means more opportunities for Carr to throw and no reason to remove him at the goal line. FAAB: $5-10

Will Levis, Titans—He’s played well the last few weeks, and I can envision him starting on fantasy teams in Week 14 with six teams on BYE. FAAB: $5-10

Bryce Young, Panthers—Is this the start of good things to come? Young is figuring out Dave Canales’ offense and the Panthers are playing decent football. FAAB: $3-5

Cooper Rush, Cowboys—Rush draws a Bengals defense that cannot stop anyone this season. FAAB: $5-10

New for Week 14

Russell Wilson, Steelers—I assume he’s gone in your league, but if not, he’s been cooking! FAAB: $50-60

Mac Jones, Jaguars—Trevor Lawrence is most certainly going to be ruled out for Week 14, making Mac the starter against a beatable Titans defense. FAAB: $5-10

Aidan O’Connell, Raiders—O’Connell almost pulled off a miracle in Kansas City before making a critical mistake. He now plays Tampa, who has given up tons of points to opposing QBs. FAAB: $5-10

RB:

Braelon Allen, Jets–Allen is Hall’s backup, and if he’s available in leagues, you need to pick him up! He’s difficult to stop when he gets a head of steam going. FAAB: $100-125

Ray Davis, Bills—With the Bills clinching a playoff spot, look for the Bills to get Davis more carries.  FAAB: $100-125

Blake Corum, Rams—He is likely rostered in 99% of leagues, but if he is miraculously available in your league, he is a must-add. He is the RB2 to Kyren Williams, who regularly sees 20+ touches each week. Corum might be a top 15 play if he happens to start. FAAB: $100-125

Trey Benson, Cardinals—James Conner has looked outstanding thus far, but when any running back gets over 20 touches a week, freak injuries can happen. Benson is the future in Arizona and has looked very good when given the opportunity. FAAB: $35-40

Cam Akers, Vikings—Aaron Jones seems to have a case of fumbilitis recently, making Akers a much more attractive option.  FAAB: $5-10

Kenneth Gainwell, Will Shipley–Saquon Barkley looks like an MVP candidate, but as the season moves forward, I can see the Eagles lowering his touches to keep him fresh for the playoffs. FAAB: $5-10

Jerome Ford, Browns—If the Browns are in catch-up mode, he is the running back they use. Worth a few bucks in PPR formats. FAAB: $15-20

Jonathon Brooks, Panthers—He’s back!  Not sure how many carries he will receive but I know that I can’t wait to see how he looks. Stash and cash. FAAB: $80-100.

Ameer Abdullah, Raiders—Abdullah should have a role as the receiving back even if Mattison/White return in Week 14. FAAB: $15-20

Jeremy McNichols, Commanders—Austin Ekeler is on the IR, making McNichols the RB2. Washington is off in Week 14, but stash if you have Robinson. FAAB: $35-40

New for Week 14:

Isaac Guerendo, 49ers—CMC is out for the season with a knee injury, and Jordan Mason was placed onto the IR with an ankle injury, making Guerendo the RB1 for the 49ers. Spend it all on him, as he could lead you to a fantasy title. FAAB: All in!

Jaleel Mclaughlin, Broncos—Welcome to the revolving RB of the week in Denver. I like McLaughlin the most out of the three, so here’s hoping Sean Payton agrees. FAAB: $100-120

Ty Johnson, Bills—Johnson might continue to see more carries with the Bills having clinched a playoff spot. FAAB: $15-20

Kimani Vidal, Chargers—With JK Dobbins on the IR, the Chargers mentioned giving Vidal more opportunities against Atlanta, but that never came to fruition. Look for his touches to increase each week. FAAB: $35-40

Sincere McCormick, Raiders—Mattison and/or White should be returning soon, but McCormack has looked decent over the past two games. FAAB: $3-5

WR:

Ricky Pearsall, 49ers–Pearsall is a fantastic young receiver with terrific speed and excellent hands. I expect a lot of playing time for him, especially with Aiyuk out for the season. FAAB: $60-65

Kayshon Boutte, Patriots–He excels against man coverage. FAAB: $25-30

Marques Valdez-Scantling, Saints—MVS might have some sneaky upside, especially against man coverage. FAAB: $5-10

Mike Williams, Steelers—Williams is a force on the outside, and so long as he can stay healthy, he gives them a bookend that will make defenses pay if they try to double Pickens. Pittsburgh still won’t throw a ton, but Williams does have value. FAAB: $25-30

Adam Thielen, Panthers—Thielen returned to the starting lineup against the Chiefs and looked like Young’s go-to receiver. He might be the top guy available. FAAB: $115-120

Marvin Mims, Jr., Broncos—After languishing on fantasy benches last season, Sean Payton has started to realize what kind of weapon he has in Mims. He’s being used like Mecole Hardman, but he has way more skill as a receiver if they choose to use him that way, too. Don’t overpay for his recent TD explosion, but there are seeds of something interesting here. FAAB: $35-45

Devaughn Vele, Broncos—He’s beginning to emerge for Denver and is their best receiver against zone coverage. FAAB: $15-20

Diontae Johnson, Ravens—The loss against Pittsburgh shows me that the Ravens need Johnson to step up and become a solid WR2. All he needs are the snaps and targets. FAAB: $15-20

New for Week 14:

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Titans—All he seems to do is catch touchdowns. FAAB: $100-120

Parker Washington, Jaguars—He seemed to be open on every throw against Houston. He could be a nice, sneaky play against Tennessee in Week 14. FAAB: $10-15

David Moore, Panthers—He’s the WR3 for Carolina, but Canales likes him, and he has a nose for the end zone. FAAB: $10-15

Tutu Atwell, Rams—Demarcus Robinson got injured against the Rams. If he misses time, Atwell becomes the WR3. FAAB: $2-4

Keon Coleman, Bills—With the Bills clinching a playoff spot, it makes sense to get Coleman more involved now that he is back from injury. FAAB: $25-30

TE:

Noah Gray, Chiefs—Gray is a solid pass catcher and runs good routes. If Kelce were to ever get hurt, he would easily be a top-ten player at the position. FAAB: $25-35

Luke Schoonmaker, Cowboys—Schoonmaker is worth a start if Jake Ferguson continues to miss time. FAAB: $20-25

Chig Okonkwo, Titans—He’s good for 2-3 catches per week. FAAB: $3-5

Dawson Knox, Bills—Kincaid is not a guarantee to return from injury, and if he’s out, Knox would be a must start. FAAB: $5-10

Tommy Tremble, Panthers—Canales has always used tight ends in his offense, and Tremble should be good for 3-4 targets per game. FAAB: $3-5

New for Week 14:

Chris Manhertz, Giants—Theo Johnson is on the IR, and Manhertz has decent hands. FAAB: $1-2

Grant Calcaterra, Eagles—Dallas Goedert is in danger of being placed on the IR with an injury. If he’s out, Calcaterra will get all the snaps. FAAB: $3-5

Juwan Johnson, Saints—With Taysom Hill out, Johnson should see the most snaps at tight end for New Orleans. FAAB: $15-20

Foster Moreau, Saints—Johnson is the better receiver, but Moreau gets more red zone looks. FAAB: $5-10

Defense:

Dallas (vs. Cincinnati)—Burrow has been sacked a ton, and Dallas’ defense has been playing at a high level since Parson returned. FAAB: $15-20

Tennessee (vs. Jacksonville)—I always like picking on Mac Jones. FAAB: $10-15

Jacksonville (vs. Tennessee)—I always like picking on Will Levis. FAAB: $10-15
