With AJ. Brown and DeVonta Smith lining up as receivers and with the addition of Saquon Barkley, Goedert will have a tough time eating in this offense. Barkley is so multi-faceted that he alone will be a better target for Jalen Hurts on dump-offs compared to Goedert down the seam. The throws to Barkley are easy completions, while the throws down the seam can potentially give an opportunity for the opposing linebacker to pick off the pass. Goedert has also never played a full year without getting injured, and availability is sometimes the best ability.
Singletary had his best season a year ago, rushing for over 800 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 4.2 yards per carry. According to Pro Football Focus, the Giants had the third-worst run-blocking team in the NFL a year ago, which doesn’t bode well for Singletary. Another RB on this roster, Tyrone Tracey Jr will push Devin for time. To be honest, he should only be considered bench depth.
It seems to me that Ekeler is washed. His after-contact per attempt average has gone down two straight years, and he really looks like he has lost a step. With the emergence of Brian Robinson Jr., who is getting better season by season, it’s possible that Ekeler ends up being RB2 on this team. Additionally, Robinson Jr. can catch balls out of the backfield and handle goal-line duties, which is why Ekeler is a bust based on where he is going in fantasy drafts.
