IDP Waiver Wire: Week 16

After some fireworks in round one of the fantasy football playoffs, some teams were left scratching their heads while other people wiped their foreheads from a close call. Defensive players played a big part in my wins for two IDP leagues that I was in. Demario Davis, who was featured a few weeks ago, tallied over 40 points for me, giving me a six-point win. At the same time, T.J. Watt recorded over 16 points in another league for a 21-point win overall. That is why you always hear me say that IDP matters, and at Dr. Roto, we’re committed to your teams.

As for the waiver wire, I’ll continue the same formula I did last week by finding players who can perform for your teams now. That means the players I put in this article may not be as deep of a dive, but that’s because you need to win. Also, if you’re still streaming defensive players, look no further than my IDP Heats of the Week, which will be out later this week. That way, you can bring the pain to your opponents on your way to the championship. Have a great day, everyone, and may the tackles be with you.

LB Kaden Elliss, Atlanta Falcons

Kaden Elliss has been on fire for the past eight games if you haven’t noticed. Elliss has recorded double-digit tackles in his last seven games out of eight, and you can throw in for sacks to go with it. At just about 33 prevent owned, Elliss can easily help you win a championship this year.

My Prediction: 8 total tackles, 1 stuff

LB Patrick Queen, Pittsburgh Steelers

So many people talk about going home, but it’s not always roses like Daughtry sang so long ago. The same goes for Patrick Queen, who is headed back to Baltimore, where he made a name for himself. With T.J. Watt most likely limited this week, Queen will have to step it up. This is a huge divisional game between the Steelers and the Ravens, which could determine who wins the AFC North. With Henry hungry for a lot more action this week than last, you can expect another great game from Queen.

My Prediction: 7 total tackles, 1 stuff

LB Cody Barton, Denver Broncos

A lot of people have seemed to forget about Cody Barton, but he hasn’t been forgotten since he’s owned in 10 percent of most leagues. He’s been solid all season and averages around eight points a game, which can help your team if you’re looking for consistency. If you have spent all of your FAAB money, don’t worry because you won’t need any for a Barton. So focus on your offense first and then swoop in and grab Barton with no problem.

My Prediction: 7 total tackles, 1 stuff
