Each week, I’ll break down the players I think you should buy low, sell high, or hold onto as the fantasy season unfolds. Whether you’re chasing a playoff spot or trying to keep your roster steady, these moves can give you the edge you need to stay ahead of the competition.
Buy – Tre Tucker
The Raiders offense has definitely struggled in the month of October. As Geno Smith has thrown a whopping 1 touchdown pass. The bright spot? Tre Tucker. He currently ranks as WR 22 in fantasy. Rumors have been swirling recently that Jakobi Myers wants to be traded, and the team is listening to offers. If so, then Tucker would slide into the WR1 role and inherit an uptick in targets. If Tucker can get going in the second half of the season, I don’t see why he can’t finish as a top 18 WR this season, especially if Jakobi gets traded. The best part about all of this is Tucker is available in 54% of ESPN leagues, so if he’s on the waiver wire, do yourself a favor and take the free square like I did this week.
Buy – Quinshon Judkins
What a steal Judkins was if you were intelligent enough to pick him on waivers or draft him in a late round. I certainly didn’t, and I’m still kicking myself for it. Judkins is an absolute beast in the running game, and that’s exactly Cleveland Browns football. Averaging 16.8 carries per game, 69.4 YPG, and dominating goal-line carries. Last week, the Browns team simply did not show up, as Judkins had a stinker of a game, and we all know fantasy football managers only remember what they don’t do for me lately. With that being said, I’d be offering trades to Judkins owners trying to pry him away, as the Browns have a solid schedule in the 2nd half of the season, which will boost Judkins fantasy production.
Sell- Tee Higgins
The Bengals offense has been rolling of late with Joe Flacco behind center. Tee has been his typical self this season, very inconsistent. As it may have been smarter to sell him coming off his week 7 boom game, his 11 fantasy points posted in week 8 still may be enough to move him. He’s averaging 3.1 catches per game to go along with 45 YPG. Not good, unless he’s your WR 4, which I doubt is a reality for anyone, especially where he was drafted. Ranking as WR34, he’s a must sell to a WR-needy team.
Sell- Keenan Allen
Let me start off by saying I am a huge fan of Mr Allen. A class act for an organization would be Mr Allen, who is everything a team should want in its player. Now, with that being said, yes he’s been having a way more productive season than I could have ever imagined, but the Chargers offense is so spread out it’s hard to bank on consistent production from him each week. I get he’s WR8 currently, but he’s a 33-year-old WR in a run-first offense with multiple playmakers at all positions. Yes, he’s 15.1 fantasy points per game, but if I could flip him for a top-tier player in an area of need for your team that’s going to help you down the stretch, I am all for it.
Hold – Nico Collins
Nico Collins has not had the start to the season I thought he was going to, as I drafted him in many leagues. A combination of bad offensive line play leading to bad quarterback play, and it all leads to mediocre WR play. Most managers drafted Collins in the late 1st or early 2nd round, and I know they aren’t happy about it, but I say stay the course. Houston has a very favorable schedule via the forward pass for the rest of the season. Nico is currently sitting at WR36, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he finishes in the top 15 at the end of the year if this offense can continue to look like it did last week against the 49ers. The offensive line held up, and Stroud completed 30 of 36 passes. Wheels up for Nico Collins and this offense.
Hold – Drake London
The Falcons offense, I seriously can’t figure out. They show up when you least expect it and no-show when they have cupcake matchups. London is another guy who was drafted early and has not played out how we imagined. The positive for London is the run game, with Bijan really putting pressure on defenses, but the downfall is inconsistent quarterback play. I truly feel that London missed Week 8 because the Falcons thought they would easily beat up on the Dolphins, so they gave him a week’s rest for his hip issue. Looking forward to a Week 9 matchup in New England. Boy, that really blew up in their face. London has had double-digit targets in 4 of his 6 games played this year, which is encouraging, but only two touchdowns. London will continue to be the focal point of this offense along with Bijan, so expect 7+ targets a week from him and just pray his numbers increase in the touchdown department.
