You know the feeling. It’s why you’re here. It’s that glorious, maddening, weekly puzzle that consumes us: the classic “start-or-sit” dilemma. The difference between glorious victory and soul-crushing defeat. And we are all looking for that “edge,” aren’t we? That little nugget of data that pats us on our tushies and tells us everything will be ok. A gentle nudge, if you will. I want you to know that I’m here each week brewing up the solutions. This column is the product of pure, uncut obsession, fueled by damn fine coffee and a pathological need to win.
This is me nudging you, friends. *pats tushie* Now, let’s get this ‘W’.
WEEK 6 RECEIPTS
On the week, I went 11-5. Which I’ll gladly take, as it was possibly the weirdest fantasy scoring day in two decades.
On the season, my record stands at 53-43, which ain’t too shabby. I win more than I lose, which is more than I can say for the J-E-T-S.
QUARTERBACKS
Start: Jared Goff (DET vs TB). Dome track + pass-protection edge means layered crossers and timing throws should be on schedule. I’m leaning into red-zone passing volume and recent target consolidation (St. Brown and LaPorta) for an efficient QB1 line.
Start: C.J. Stroud (HOU @ SEA). Everything points to 35+ attempts against soft zones that match his rhythm game. I’m banking on a couple of play-action shots to Nico to clear the ceiling.
Sit: Cameron Ward (TEN vs NE). This profiles as a pace-down spot with disguises that force checkdowns and muddy reads. I’m fading a rookie versus pressure looks that caps big plays and turns drives into field goals.
Sit: Geno Smith (LV @ KC). Arrowhead noise plus disguised coverages that squeeze the middle of the field is a bad mix for Geno’s. I’m bracing for sacks, stalls, picks, and a 12–15 point slog.
RUNNING BACKS
Start: Jordan Mason (MIN vs PHI). Script sets up for a 15–18 touch grinder behind the gap, looks into a defense vulnerable after contact. I’m counting on inside-the-five chances to carry the week, even if YPC is ordinary.
Start: Quinshon Judkins (CLE vs MIA). Home game and light boxes – even without the screen usage – give him both floor and TD paths. I expect 18+ opportunities with primary goal-line work in a grindy script.
Sit: Travis Etienne Jr. (JAX vs LAR – London). The Rams rally to wide runs and force cutbacks – exactly where ETJ’s efficiency dips. I’m anticipating pass-protection asks and two-minute snaps siphoning routes, leaving TD dependence overseas.
Sit: Cam Skattebo (NYG @ DEN). Altitude and a top-tier run front are two strikes for a road back. Add in the fact that he runs like he’s trying to develop CTE by age 24 (injury risk every snap), and Cam’s been called out on strikes.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Start: Chris Olave (NO @ CHI). Perimeter leverage and free access on deep outs/digs match his route wins. I’m calling double-digit targets with one schemed deep shot to flip the week.
Start: Keenan Allen (LAC vs IND). Top-end total + slot leverage on money downs is Keenan’s happy place. I’m penciling in 8-10 grabs and a red-zone pivot or option route for paydirt.
Sit: Jerry Jeudy (CLE vs MIA). Run-lean script and horizontal target spread ding his spike-week odds. I’m expecting TE/backs to own the money looks while brackets sit on his outbreakers.
Sit: A.J. Brown (PHI @ MIN). Safety help shaded his way on high-leverage downs funnels targets elsewhere. I’m treating him as a volume-capped WR2/3 in a physical game that limits YAC. Start him if you trust it, but I won’t until he makes me regret it.
TIGHT ENDS
Start: Harold Fannin Jr. (CLE vs MIA). Linebacker/safety matchups are there for seams and crossers in play-action. I’m projecting 5-7 looks with a high-leverage red-zone target to cash.
Start: Hunter Henry (NE @ TEN). Favored game script + condensed red-zone tree makes Henry the first read on leaks and pivots. I’m betting heavy personnel PA springs him for chain-movers and a legit TD shot.
Sit: Cade Otton (TB @ DET). Detroit’s funnel forces you outside and over the top, not through TE seams. I’m anticipating more in-line work and target competition capping routes.
Sit: Theo Johnson (NYG @ DEN). Low total with disciplined zone drops squeezes TE windows between the numbers. I’m viewing him as TD-or-bust on thin participation behind the primary WRs.
