Teams on BYE: Broncos, Chargers, Commanders, Dolphins
Each week, it is critical to scope out your league’s waiver wire to look for the best players to help your fantasy roster. The fantasy football managers who pay attention and pick up players at the right time can have a huge advantage when it comes to winning their league. The difference between bidding on waivers and FAAB is that, with FAAB, winning the player is based solely on outbidding other players in the league. However, it’s extremely important to be judicious with your FAAB budget throughout the season, considering it may need to last 14-17 weeks, assuming you end up making the fantasy championship.
Here is a list of players to keep on your watch list, along with their projected FAAB amounts. For purposes of this article, the assumption is that your league uses $ 1,000 FAAB.
Also, players are removed from this list after 1-2 weeks, with the expectation that the rest of your league mates have picked them up.
New for Week 12:
Tyler Shough, Saints–Week 12 has four teams on BYE, and there could be other QBs (Penix, Rodgers) out with injury. Shough is not great, but the Saints play at a fast pace, and he did look decent against the Rams. FAAB: $5-10
Bryce Young, Panthers–Young had his best game as a professional against Atlanta in Week 11, but to think that will happen again is pure fallacy. Carolina is a run-first team, and Young might not throw for over 300 yards again this season. Pay, but don’t overpay. FAAB: $15-20
Kirk Cousins, Falcons–Penix was already placed on the IR, and it’s now Cousins’ team. He’s looked awful when he’s played this season, and Drake London could be out as well. FAAB: $2-4
Tyrod Taylor, Jets–Aaron Glenn has decided to let Taylor start against the Ravens. I wish him much luck, as this could be a mess. FAAB: $1
Mason Rudolph, Steelers–Rodgers is 50-50 for Week 12. If you have him, you should spend a little FAAB on Rudolph just in case. FAAB: $2-4
Jameis Winston, Giants–Bid a buck or two in case Dart misses another game with a concussion. FAAB: $2-4
From Previous Weeks:
Davis Mills, Texans–Mills played well against Jacksonville and Tennessee and is a good hedge in case Stroud misses another week. FAAB: $3-5
Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars–Lawrence is like a roller coaster that makes you nauseous. Only for the most desperate. FAAB: $25-30
New for Week 12:
Emanuel Wilson, Packers–Josh Jacobs is unlikely to play in Week 12, although he is expected to be fine to finish the season. Wilson could start on a number of teams, so if you need an RB during this four-team BYE week, then he is the ideal fill-in. FAAB: $200-250 if the playoffs are hanging in the balance, then maybe more
Bhayshul Tuten, Jaguars/LeQuint Allen, Jaguars–Tuten was playing exceptionally well before leaving the game with an ankle injury. If Tuten misses the game, Allen will be the beneficiary as Liam Coen loves him on third downs and obvious passing situations. FAAB: Tuten $80-100 Allen $10-15
Ollie Gordon, Dolphins–Gordon is back and healthy again, and Miami likes using him in goal-line situations. Prefer him in standard formats. FAAB: $30-40
Jaleel McLaughlin, Broncos–JK Dobbins is on the IR, and there is a chance that he might not return this season. McLaughlin is a Sean Payton favorite and will share touches with R.J. Harvey. FAAB: $25-35
Chris Rodriguez, Commanders–For some reason, Washington has decided to go with Rodriguez and not Croskey-Merritt as their RB1. Things are fluid with the Commanders run game, so don’t overbid. FAAB: $15-20
Devin Singletary, Giants–He’s the Giants goal-line back and definitely worth a look in standard formats. FAAB: $10-15
From Previous Weeks:
Trey Benson, Cardinals–There’s a good chance that Benson returns to action in Week 12, so if he is out there, he is a must-add. FAAB: $200-250
Tyler Allgeier, Falcons–He’s more than just a backup; he’s a TD threat too. Like him in standard leagues. FAAB: $50-60
Brian Robinson, Jr., 49ers–He looks like the 49ers new goal-line back. Pay an extra buck in a standard format. FAAB: $30-40
SAID THIS LAST WEEK! Sean Tucker, Bucs–It’s starting to look like Bucky Irving is going to miss more time. The more Tucker plays, the better he looks. Buy now, as it might be the last week to get him. FAAB: $60-80
Dylan Sampson, Browns–A solid hedge in case Judkins gets injured. FAAB: $20-25
Isaiah Davis, Jets —A solid hedge in case Hall gets injured. FAAB: $20-25
Blake Corum, Rams–A solid hedge in case Kyren Williams gets injured. FAAB: $55-60
Tyrone Tracy, Jr., Giants–He’s got plenty of talent; hopefully, Mike Kafka likes him more than Brian Daboll did. FAAB: $100-125
SAID THIS LAST WEEK! Bhayshul Tuten, Jaguars–A solid hedge in case Etienne gets injured. FAAB: $30-35
Devin Neal, Saints–Kendre Miller is out for the season with a torn ACL, and Kamara hasn’t looked great recently. Worth a flyer. FAAB: $5-10
SAID THIS LAST WEEK! Emmanuel Wilson, Packers– Would add for sure if you have Jacobs. FAAB: $20-25
New for Week 12:
Michael Wilson, Cardinals–15 for 185 and a TD! Wilson might not put up those numbers for the rest of the season, but so long as Marvin Harrison is out, he should remain fantasy relevant. Worth a few dollars if you are fighting for a playoff spot. FAAB: $125-150
Darnell Mooney, Falcons–Drake London’s injury might keep him out multiple weeks, and Atlanta will have no choice but to feature Mooney the rest of the way. At one time, he was considered one of the top young receivers in the league. It’s time for him to step up. FAAB: $90-100
Christian Watson, Packers–Watson is a talented receiver who dominates man coverage and could be a difference maker over the next few weeks as Green Bay tries to get into the playoffs. FAAB: $50-60
Jayden Higgins, Texans–Higgins has emerged as the WR2 in Houston and should get more targets. FAAB: $20-25
Tyrell Shavers, Bills–Keon Coleman is dealing with maturity issues, and Shavers made a terrific TD catch against Tampa, which could earn him more playing time. FAAB: $5-10
Greg Dortch, Cardinals–Dortch will be heavily involved in the passing attack so long as Harrison remains sidelined. FAAB: $35-40
Luther Burden III, Bears–Burden is starting to cement a role in the Bears’ offense with each passing week. Sadly, Caleb Williams is still very unreliable, but expect to see Burden get more opportunities at slot receiver. FAAB: $45-50
Isaiah Hodgins, Giants–He will have a role with Darius Slayton injured. Mike Kafka was the OC when Hodgins broke out in 2022, so he’s on the radar. FAAB: $3-5
Jalen Coker, Panthers–More of a speculation play than anything, considering Legette was injured on the last drive of the game. FAAB: $10-12
From Previous Weeks:
Tez Johnson, Bucs–He’s looking like a solid option with the injuries to Evans and Godwin. FAAB: $80-100
Adonai Mitchell, Jets–With Garett Wilson out for the next month, expect to see Mitchell become the WR1 (for whatever that is worth). FAAB: $15-20
Mack Hollins, Patriots–Arguably a top-five blocking WR and can catch when needed. FAAB; $5-10
Tyler Lockett, Raiders–Lockett was an under-the-radar signing after he was released by the Titans. He’s a Pete Carroll and Geno Smith favorite. FAAB: $20-25
Jailen Nailor, Vikings–McCarthy seems to like throwing to him more than Hockenson. FAAB: $5-10
Alec Pierce, Colts–No one wants to roster him, but he seems to make the big downfield plays when they need him. FAAB: $100-125
Pat Bryant, Broncos–His snaps are slowly ramping up. Sean Payton was enamored with him in training camp. FAAB: $5-7
New for Week 12:
Colston Loveland, Bears–He seems to be asserting himself as the new starting TE in Chicago. Cole Kmet is too good a blocker to be replaced entirely, but Loveland will be in there in obvious passing situations. FAAB: $25-30
Brenton Strange, Jaguars–Expected to return from the IR in the next week or two. FAAB: $10-15
Brock Wright, Lions–Will be the starter with Sam LaPorta on the IR. He’s more of a blocker, but he could catch a TD by the goal line. FAAB: $5-10
Darnell Washington, Steelers–Washington seems to be emerging as the go-to tight end for Pittsburgh. He’s a HUGE target in the red zone. Much better in standard formats. FAAB: $5-10
Ja’Tavion Sanders, Panthers–Sanders is back starting for Carolina after missing a few games with an injury. Dave Canales likes him, and Bryce Young looked for him a lot against Atlanta. FAAB: $15-20
From Previous Weeks:
Dawson Knox, Bills–Kincaid is week-to-week with a hamstring injury. Worth a few bucks in a standard format. FAAB: $5-10
Jackson Hawes, Bills–Could see the field some with Kincaid dealing with an injury. FAAB: $5-10
Greg Dulcich, Dolphins–Only for the most desperate. FAAB: $1-2
Luke Musgrave, Packers–Few remember, but it was Musgrave, and not Kraft, who had the higher expectations coming out of the draft. FAAB: $80-100 (a definite get for anyone who had Kraft).
Elijah Arroyo, Seahawks–He has serious receiving skills and might see more snaps as Seattle makes a playoff push. FAAB: $5-10
Gunnar Helm, Titans–He was a solid player at Texas and seems to be in the right spots for Cam Ward downfield. FAAB: $1-2
Noah Fant, Bengals–Joe Flacco has always liked using his tight ends, and Fant is the TE1. FAAB: $10-12
Isaiah Likely, Ravens–Likely may have a sizable role as the Ravens seem to be lacking production from any receiver not named Flowers and Andrews. FAAB: $25-30
Mason Taylor, Jets– With the Jets lacking any serious number two receiver, Taylor has stepped up. He should be good for 3-5 receptions a week moving forward. FAAB: $10-15
A.J. Barner, Seahawks–Barner is a big-time blocking tight end with surprisingly decent skills as a receiver. FAAB: $5-10
