Fantasy Football Buy/Sell/Hold Week 7

Each week, I’ll break down the players I think you should buy low, sell high, or hold onto as the fantasy season unfolds. Whether you’re chasing a playoff spot or trying to keep your roster steady, these moves can give you the edge you need to stay ahead of the competition.

Buy – Breece Hall

The Jets so far this year have been a train wreck, but one of the few bright spots has been Hall. The numbers, you might say, don’t show it, but let’s look deeper. He’s averaging 14.6 rushing yards per game, 3 targets per game, 68.3 rushing yards per game, and also carrying 64.6% of the team’s carries. The crazy stat is Hall has ZERO touchdowns on the year and is only 20 fantasy points within the top 11 while playing every week on a train wreck of a team whose quarterback vultures a majority of the rushing touchdowns. Let’s hope Breece gets traded with the deadline approaching.

Buy – Chris Olave

Olave has been Mr. consistent this season. Not bad for someone who was being drafted in the 7th round. He’s averaging 6.5 catches per week and being fed 10.6 targets per week. The worry with Olave is that he’s possibly one more concussion away from never playing football again, but the talent is there. Especially on a team that will be trailing every week, knowing they have to throw the football. He’s a steady flex position every week with WR2 upside if he gets dealt at the trade deadline to a contender.

Sell – Rico Dowdle

Rico has been a man on a mission the last two weeks. As a Dowdle owner, we just wish Chuba would go away, but unfortunately, the Panthers love running the ball in a time-share committee. If you have depth at the running back position, I wouldn’t necessarily say you need to sell Rico, but if you are thin at the position, I would be trying to sell for a Bucky Irving or maybe even an upset Barkley owner. Although Rico looked possessed the last two weeks, what he did isn’t sustainable. A player putting up video game numbers in fantasy is a fantastic feeling as an owner, but I do believe he comes back to reality this week because of head coach Dave Canales & Chuba Hubbard.

Sell – Tony Pollard

Pollard was a fantastic late-round draft pick for fantasy owners, but the caveat was always that Spears would be making a return around week 5. Pollard was averaging 18 carries a game in the first three weeks, which is RB1 usage, but unfortunately, over the last three weeks, his usage has dropped to 12.6 attempts per game. I expect Pollard to continue to be the lead back, but at elite RB1 usage with Spears back in the picture. The Titans being the dumpster first, they are, it may not be the easiest trade to deal Pollard, but it won’t be impossible.

Hold – Jerry Jeudy

I know it hasn’t been pretty for Jeudy owners this season, and I’m sure he’s on the waiver wire in some leagues. But the Browns have to throw to someone, and their schedule wasn’t so friendly to start out the season. We all know the skill set Jeudy has; just go back and look at his numbers from last season. I do believe he would shine a lot more if Sanders was under center, which gives hope for the future. Jeudy has yet to score a touchdown this season, but I have a feeling he gets right in week 7 against the Dolphins and scores his first of the season. This season, Jeudy has been targeted on 19.2% of routes, down from his 2024 season of 22.87%, but to be optimistic, I believe he gets back on track this week and more of a favorable schedule in the second half of the year.

Hold – Jakobi Meyers

Jakobi Meyers is a heck of a talent; he started the season off on fire, gobbling up 14 receptions on 22 targets in the first two games of the season. Weirdly enough, he’s only had 15 receptions since and only 21 targets in the last 4 games. There are current rumors swirling that he may be on the trade block, and one of the teams in that rumor mill includes the New England Patriots. Let’s not forget Jakobi asked for a trade before the season started. I do believe he does get traded, which will only increase his value, especially if it’s to his old team, where he’s played already under current OC Josh McDaniels.
