Matthew Stafford, Rams–Is there anyone who loves a revenge narrative better than I do? In fact, I think I was one of the first on SiriusXM to ever discuss the revenge narrative and the hometown narrative. Matthew Stafford is coming back to Detroit, playing in a game that the Rams must win, and it feels like everything is lining up for him to have a huge week. Detroit loves to play man coverage, which could be a nightmare for them as Stafford will likely throw for close to 300 yards and three touchdowns.
Jalen Hurts, Eagles– Many times we’ve talked about playing a quarterback the week after he’s had a horrible start. I’m not sure any quarterback has had a worse start than Hurts did last Monday against the Chargers. Luckily for him, he gets the Raiders in Week 15, which could be the biggest cupcake on his schedule. Nick Sirianni has to figure this offense out as they make their playoff push. If there was ever a week for him to have 200 passing yards and two touchdowns, as well as 50 yards rushing and a touchdown, this would be the week.
Jaxson Dart, Giants– Hasn’t it seemed like every quarterback has feasted on Washington this season? Well, why not Dart? The Giants still feel like they’re playing for this year, even though most of their fans would love them to finish with the number one pick, but I think Dart is too competitive for that. Look for him to take some big shots downfield to Slayton and Robinson, as well as run the football like we know he can do. He should finish this game with at least 220 passing yards and two touchdowns, as well as another 50 yards rushing and a touchdown.
C.J. Stroud, Texans– CJ Stroud does much better when he doesn’t feel pressure, and sadly, the Cardinals have just not improved their pass rush. First-round draft pick Walter Nolan has been injured for most of the season, and if the Cardinals can’t pressure Stroud, he’s going to pick them apart and take some deep shots downfield. Look for him to finish this game with at least 250 passing yards and two touchdowns, with a possibility of much more.
Honorable Mention: Lamar Jackson, Brock Purdy
Derrick Henry, Ravens– Just a couple of weeks ago, Henry dominated the Bengals but only finished the game with 10 carries. He was running so well that the biggest criticism of John Harbaugh after the game was why didn’t he give the ball to Henry more? I think that will be answered this week as Henry will get the ball a ton and finish with at least a hundred yards rushing and one touchdown with a good chance of two.
Saquon Barkley, Eagles– In games where the Eagles are winning, they love to run the football and play conservatively. They also love giving the ball to Saquon Barkley as many times as they can, and I think that’s going to happen this week against the Raiders defense that feels like it’s checked out. Barkley hasn’t had one of his boom weeks for quite some time, and this might be the boom week that we’re looking for as he finishes with 140 yards and at least one touchdown.
Travis Etienne, Jaguars– Even though Trevor Lawrence has played appreciably better over the past few weeks, Jacksonville is still a team that prefers to run than to throw. Last week, Bhayshul Tuten fumbled and was taken out of the game, and Travis Etienne had most of the carries in the second half. Look for that to continue against a Jets defense that has had a lot of difficulty stopping opposing running backs. Etienne will finish with at least 90 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots–The one thing we know about the Buffalo run defense is that it’s the team’s Achilles heel. As much as I love Drake Maye, it feels like the Patriots are going to want to run the ball down the Bills throats. Henderson is the more explosive player, but it’s Stevenson who is the guy that they rely on around the goal line. Even though he can fumble more than I’d like him to, he still feels like a lock to score a touchdown.
Honorable Mention: Chuba Hubbard, D’Andre Swift
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions– This feels like a must-win game for both teams, and Jared Goff has his own revenge narrative, too. Look for him to pepper St. Brown on some short passes, which the Rams will certainly leave open in the middle of the field, as they don’t want to get beaten deep by Jameson Williams. St. Brown hasn’t had one of those big weeks that he’s known for, but it could be coming in Week 15 as I think he finishes with 11 catches for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals– Ja’Marr Chase has historically shredded the Ravens single high coverage to the benefit of his fantasy managers. It’s almost like the Ravens haven’t figured out that this is Chase’s favorite defense to play against, and they let him make catches at will. With the likelihood that Tee Higgins will miss this game, it makes Chase even more dominant, and Joe Burrow is certainly going to find his college buddy. Chase may have one of those historic weeks, so you need to have them in all your rosters as he gets 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Chris Olave, Saints– The Panthers roll out Cover 3 zone coverage more than any other team in the league, and arguably one of the best receivers against the Cover 3 is Chris Olave. Tyler Shough has looked much better over the last couple of games, and the Saints are on a roll after last week’s big victory. Look for them to continue their good play with Olave, who catches 90 yards and a touchdown.
Nico Collins, Texans– I mentioned the Stroud play earlier this segment, and I want to follow up with Collins. Stroud to Nico is one of those connections that can really feed families, and that’s going to happen in Week 15. Arizona plays a ton of Cover 4 defense, which is right up Collins’s alley, and because they won’t pressure Stroud, he should have time to make some big plays downfield. Look for Collins to have at least 90 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Honorable Mention: Davante Adams, Terry McLaurin
George Kittle, 49ers– Kevin Winston might be the worst cover safety in all of football. He was atrocious last week against Fannin, and I think he’s going to be covering Kittle much to the detriment of the Titans. Look for Purdy to find Kittle for at least one touchdown and about 70 yards receiving.
Mark Andrews, Ravens– The Bengals pass defense against tight ends has been like watching an Oprah Winfrey talk show: here’s a touchdown for you and a touchdown for you and oh yeah, a touchdown for you. This week a lot of people will be looking to Likely for the sneaky score but I think it’s more likely that Mark Andrews gets at least one touchdown and possibly two. Lock him in as a Visionary play.
Theo Johnson, Giants– The Commanders have been one of the worst teams over the past few weeks against opposing tight ends, and Dart seems to love throwing to Theo Johnson, especially in the red zone. If you put those two things together, it feels like Theo should be getting 60 to 70 yards receiving and a touchdown.
A.J. Barner, Seahawks– Indianapolis has been very soft in its coverage against opposing tight ends all season. Elijah Arroyo left the game last week with an injury, and he’s doubtful to play, which should mean that Barner will get almost 90% of the snaps. If that happens, Barner could easily have 12 to 14 fantasy points.
Honorable Mention: Colby Parkinson, Harold Fannin
