The Hardest Hits | IDP Waiver Wire: NFL Week 17

We’re back for another exciting week of NFL football as we get ready to dive into the waiver wire to find some gems. With many fantasy owners done because they’ve missed the playoffs, this could be your chance to add some defensive players that will help you win this season. That means you’ll have less competition to compete with, and you could even find a dropped player who can help you win your championship. That being said, let’s get to this week’s pick-ups of the week, so that you can slay your competition. Have a great day, everyone, and may the tackles be with you.

LB Drake Thomas, Seattle Seahawks

It’s championship week for most fantasy football leagues, and you’ll need every point your team deserves. Drake Thomas has been solid recently and is currently coming off a 13-tackle performance in which he played 84 percent of the snaps. Thomas should easily match those numbers against the Panthers this week, who run a similar offense to the Rams. With that much action, it’s hard to ignore Thomas and the Seahawks defense this week.

LB SirVocea Dennis, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sirvocea Dennis is coming off one of his best games of the year, in which he recorded eight tackles and one sack. This week, the Buccaneers will be down the street in Miami to face the Dolphins, who recently benched their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. With the amount of work that De’Von Achane and Darren Waller get over the middle, Dennis is a lock this week. Get him in your lineups and win your championship with a guy who is only owned around 42 percent in most leagues.

LB Germaine Pratt, Indianapolis Colts

If you’re looking for a player who always gives you a great effort regarding his matchup, then look no further than Germaine Pratt. Pratt practically is a lock for six total tackles a week, so there’s a prop bet for you. However, you need to win your championship, pick up Pratt now, if you’re looking for a player who will give your team the points it needs to win this week.

DL Deforest Buckner, Indianapolis Colts

The Colts got waxed by the Niners even though DeForest Buckner finally returned to the lineup. Buckner played 67 percent of snaps and recorded five tackles in the process. I already wrote up another fellow Colt player in this write-up, so you can see I’m targeting a game that could be a shootout. If that happens, you will reap the benefits from having two players in this game.

DB Alohi Gilman, Baltimore Ravens

Alohi Gilman has been consistent recently by recording 31 tackles and one touchdown in the past four weeks. The Ravens are desperate after losing Lamar Jackson in their game against the Patriots last week. So, whether he plays or not, you can expect Gilman to be active in the tackle department against the Packers. With both teams playing for the playoffs or playoff positioning, you can expect a lot of action between the tackles, which will lead to a big day for Gilman.
