Cascading Projections

Start here — how to use Cascading Projections HideShow

A normal projection is an average of every way a game could go.

Cascading Projections lets you throw that average out and ask a better question.

If this happens, what does everything else look like?

Watch first — 2 minutes

JM walks Pete through one pin, start to finish. Watch on X ›

Then start clicking

  1. Pick your slate. Then DraftKings or FanDuel.
  2. Pin a quarterback. Click his Pin cell, type a score, press Enter.
  3. Read the Δ column. Everyone in that game just moved.
  4. Change your mind. Type a different number. It re-cascades.
  5. Start clean whenever. Clear all inputs.

“What if my guy goes off?”

Use the Pin cell

Type the fantasy score you’re imagining. One pin per game.

“What if I think this game is a shootout?”

Use Input Game Scores

Click the matchup, type both teams’ points. It re-bases the whole game.

“What if he just has a good day?”

Use the Pctile cell

Type where he lands: 50 a median day, 75 a good one, 90 a big one. One percentile per team.

A pin beats a game score beats a percentile. QB, RB, WR and TE only — grey cells sit outside the model.
