In this article I want to cover some strategies and ideas to consider while preparing for and executing your fantasy snake draft. If you’ve already read “The Unspoken Edge: Adjusting to League Settings” then you should be well aware of how many starters you need at which positions and how many bench and IR spots you have at your disposal.
Assuming a 12-team snake draft and one starting QB.
Before your draft:
If you pick No. 3 overall and can’t decide between some of the elite RB and WR options available at the top of drafts this year, it would be wise to break ties based on how you anticipate your picks at 22 and 27 overall playing out. Regardless of if you know your draft slot weeks ahead of time or minutes before your draft begins, laying out your top 20-30 rankings (or projected picks) for your specific league format ahead of time is a great exercise to think through how things will look when you are on the clock in the first few rounds and in some different scenarios.
