We’re back for another exciting week of NFL football as we get ready to dive into the waiver wire to find some gems. With many owners checking out because they’re going to miss the playoffs, this could be your chance to add some defensive players who will help you win this season. That means you’ll have less competition to compete with, and you could even find a dropped player that you could use on defense. That being said, let’s get to this week’s pick-ups of the week, so that you can slay your competition. Have a great day, everyone, and may the tackles be with you.
LB Alex Singleton, Denver Broncos
Alex Singleton isn’t an unpopular linebacker, so being 33 percent owned is just about right. Normally, Singleton would be above 50 percent, but he missed a game before the Broncos’ bye week. I would pick him up immediately since he will be facing a lot of teams that will run plays in his direction. With Singleton normally getting 100 percent of snaps, this is a move you can make now and feel confident in for the rest of the fantasy season.
LB Drake Thomas, Seattle Seahawks
I brought up Drake Thomas recently, but he is still owned in only three percent of the leagues. In the past two games, Thomas has matched his previous three games, which is a sign that he’s heating up. The only problem is his snap count, which is normally above 60 percent, but that was because the Seahawks locked up the Vikings completely. I would add Thomas immediately before someone else beats you to him.
LB Demetrius Knight, Cincinnati Bengals
Demetrius Knight started this season green like most rookies. Regardless, Knight has had a great season and looks like he’ll be a staple in the Bengals defense for years. However, this week the Bengals are headed to Buffalo to face the Bills. That gives him plenty of opportunities for tackles for this game and going forward. Pick up Knight this week, and if you’re in a dynasty league, you should already have him on your team.
DL Tuli Tuipulotu, Los Angeles Chargers
Tuli Tuipulotu is a player that many fantasy owners aren’t familiar with, but now they will. In the past seven games, Tuipulotu has had a sack in five of them, with two in his last game against the Raiders. Tuipulotu is around 13 percent owned and has become a staple for the Chargers defense. With the Chargers having a brutal schedule for the rest of the season, you can count on Tuipulotu to have plenty of work to do, so go get him now.
DB Alohi Gilman, Baltimore Ravens
Alohi Gilman is coming off an eight-tackle performance and has logged the straight games with a 100 percent snap rate. In his worst game during this stretch, Gilman had one tackle two weeks ago, but he salvaged the day with a fumble recovery. If you watch the games, you’ll see that Gilman is always around the ball, which leads to moments like this, along with games in which he can make tackles. If you need a defensive back, I would highly consider Gilman, who should get a lot of work going forward now that the Ravens are leading the division.
