2025 Fantasy Football: NFC East Busts

The NFC East looks to be a very good division in 2025. The Philadelphia Eagles are reigning Super Bowl champions, and the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys are also playoff contenders. Only the Giants project to be a below-average team this season.

But every year, NFL teams have players who fail to reach expectations. Here are my busts for each NFC East team.

Eagles: Kelee Ringo, CB
With the departure of Darius Slay to Pittsburgh, the Eagles lost one of their top outside cornerbacks. His expected replacement is Ringo, a 23-year-old who played his college ball at Georgia.

But Ringo’s tape so far in his NFL career is concerning. His hips look stiff, and he occasionally takes poor angles when tackling. In the Eagles’ elite secondary, he is the weak link, and opponents expect to exploit that this season.

Commanders: Deebo Samuel Sr., WR
In a flashy move, the Commanders traded for Samuel to provide QB Jayden Daniels with a solid No. 2 receiver to pair with Terry McLaurin. However, Samuel is anything but a sure shot to succeed in 2025.

Samuel struggled in terms of efficiency in 2024, ranking outside the top 40 wide receivers in yards per route run. He’s also been unable to stay healthy, missing multiple games in each of the last three seasons. The 29-year-old is a long shot to return to his best this season.

Cowboys: Javonte Williams, RB
Williams struggled last season in Denver despite running behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, and now suffers a downgrade by joining the Cowboys. While he is still the incumbent starter, he might not be No. 1 on the depth chart for long.

Rookie Jaydon Blue has impressed in training camp and could pass Williams early in the season. And even if he does not, Williams is still an ineffective rusher behind a mediocre offensive line.

Giants: Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB
A fifth-round rookie in 2024, Tracy surprised many by grabbing the Giants’ starting running back job and having a solid season. However, he’ll have some stiff competition in 2025 just to keep that job.

Devin Singletary is still in New York to vulture touches, and joining him is rookie fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo. Even if Tracy remains the starter, his lack of a three-down role means he could disappoint this season.
